Jared Leto, el cantante de la banda, describió el significado de la canción: "Es, en realidad, sobre una relación con vos mismo. Es sobre enfrentar tus miedos y enfrentar quien sos en verdad". También dijo que trata sobre "confrontaciones como rutas que se cruzan" – verse a uno mismo como es en realidad.
