The Cardigans es una banda que se formó en la ciudad de Jönköping, Suecia en 1992. El estilo de su música ha variado de álbum a álbum. En sus comienzos se los podría encuadrar dentro del indie, pasando por un pop más inspirado en los años 1960 y por supuesto por el rock. Los integrantes de The Cardigans son Bengt Lagerberg, batería e instrumentos de viento, Lasse Johansson guitarra y teclados, Magnus Sveningsson bajista, Nina Persson vocalista principal y Peter Svensson guitarra y compositor de la banda, aunque las letras son en su mayoría, producto del esfuerzo del grupo.
