Pestilence fue banda (death metal para unos, thrash para otros) de Holanda fundada en 1986. Luego la banda fue incorporando unos elementos de jazz y fusion a su musica. Lanzaron 4 álbumes antes de disolverse en el año de 1994 para otros propositos musicales. Inicialmente estaban Patrick Mameli(guitarra y vocales), Randy Meinhard(guitarra), Marco Foddis (bateria) quienes grabaron dos álbumes antes de llamar la atención de la Roadrunner Records. Luego de su primer álbum Martin van Drunen(bajista, vocalista) se unió a ellos.
