¿ESTÁS PREPARADO PARA EL LABORATORIO BASE?
Baselab surge ante un panorama musical apabullado por la “crisis”, brindándonos una revolucionaria y enérgica propuesta.
Su primer disco, “Laboratorio Base”, pretende establecerse como el germen de una liberación musical; un laboratorio de pruebas donde indiscriminadamente se fusiona y se experimenta con todos los conceptos, estilos y sonidos esenciales de una generación escondida. Una generación cansada de no tener voz propia, que no entiende como suyo un mundo de conflictos televisivos, etiquetas fronterizas o fenómenos de masas elegidos por votación telefónica.

Su primer single “Dentro del Caos” grita en el estribillo...
“quiero alejarme de aquí, necesito con la distancia ver alguna luz”

Como un futuro himno, Baselab quiere aprovechar este llamamiento que supone el lanzamiento de su primer trabajo para englobar bajo un mismo símbolo los fenómenos artísticos más actuales.
Videoarte, danzas urbanas, performances, diseño gráfico o graffiti se sustentan por una atrevida propuesta musical que nos lleva desde la electrónica más bizarra al reggae más orgánico, pasando por el drum and bass, el hip hop, el jungle, el pop, el dubstep, el electro, el rock, el nu rave y un sinfín de etiquetas que al pasar por el laboratorio base adquieren un nuevo e insólito significado.

BIENVENIDOS AL LABORATORIO BASE

Baselab se forma en Madrid durante el año 2007, como un colectivo artístico-musical fundado por cinco personas rebosantes de inquietudes creativas y con una considerable trayectoria. Buscando ofrecer un producto poco habitual en nuestro país, aunque de gran consumo en países como Inglaterra, Francia o Alemania; Baselab cuida y trabaja cada detalle. Cada uno de sus componentes aporta su granito de arena tanto en lo musical como en la parte visual o incluso en las letras.
Sin duda, suponen un importante soplo de aire fresco en la escena nacional; por su inteligente fusión de estilos, su buen hacer musical y su mensaje siempre vitalista con pinceladas de reivindicación positiva. Sus influencias van desde Horace Andy a The Prodigy, desde Massive Attack a The Roots, pasando por artistas tan dispares como Bjork, A.D.F., Queens Of The Stone Age, Jamiroquai, Burial o Timbaland.
Pero recordad que son algo más que un simple grupo de música. El Laboratorio se plantea como una plataforma creativa que te transporta a una experiencia única en la que música, imágenes y sensaciones juegan un importante papel.
“Laboratorio Base”, primer LP de Baselab, estará editado por Lengua Armada, sello independiente de ámbito nacional conocido por sus inteligentes apuestas. Grabado y mezclado en Madrid en los estudios Fashion Beat Team. El disco ha sido masterizado en los Soundmasters Studios de Londres por Kevin Metcalfe, leyenda viva sin el que no se podría entender toda la música desde finales de los setenta. Ha trabajado, por citar sólo unos pocos, con artistas de la talla de David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Queen, Sting, U2, Oasis, Depeche Mode, The Clash, UB40, The Prodigy, Tina Turner, Happy Mondays, The White Stripes, Gentleman, A.D.F., Dead Kennedys, Bebel Gilberto, Goldfrapp, Spiritualized, Napalm Death, Underworld o Pulp.
Muchas veces oímos hablar de “nuevo grupo sensación” o “innovadora propuesta”, pero, esta vez, no vamos a seguir cayendo en los tópicos de siempre. Tan sólo una humilde petición... Olvidaos de etiquetas y dejad que vuestros oídos decidan...
